The Empowered Therapeutic Recreation Professional
Leaving your unique mark on the blossoming field of Therapeutic Recreation
(pssttt - it's YOU!)
By entering into the field of Therapeutic Recreation, you have made a choice to not only become an advocate for those you work with, but also a passionate and persistent advocate for the field itself.
Throughout the career of a Recreation Therapist, there will be many challenges. Limited resources, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and even opposition to our work can greatly affect our ability to serve others. To show up and make a difference by using our extensive and unique knowledge relies heavily on our ability to tap into feelings of Empowerment.
In this 60-minute session, we will examine the power of knowledge and how to mold our attitudes in order to set ourselves up for success. We will learn how to identify our unique strengths and how this will help us become more resilient to the factors that lead to career burnout.
Ultimately we want to create an accessible plan for how we can feel empowered in our ability to make a substantial contribution to the lives of others through recreation, leisure, and play.
The Therapeutic Recreation way.
